While these disciplines remain the university’s anchor, plans are afoot to diversify its offerings at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the not-too-distant future in order to address different economic needs of management in Namibia. The purpose of the university is to educate and train young managers of the future; the young managers who will go out into the world and help to generate work and wealth in those sectors of society where there is most need, demand or opportunity.
The 2022 Part-time Class of INTEGRATING EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY II, are working on a project to incorporate WIKINEWS as a teaching tool in their classrooms. (2013) said as an educator you can Utilize as a hub for group assignments, offering options for revision, tracking contributor participation, and providing a cooperative platform for Learners to indulge with one another. Rasmussen, As a free resource, teachers can create and share their best curriculum and teaching practices, and mix and match lesson plans, videos, animations, and photos to create custom teaching tools. Wikis not only help build a sense of community, but also support collaborative learning through sharing, group work, and peer interactions.Wikis also naturally accommodate different approaches to learning while putting the student at the center of learning.
A teacher can us Wikis support collaborative learning because Wikis can enable groups of students to work together to solve a problem, complete a project, etc.
Wikis promote active learning where students can actively participate in educational activities like writing, discussing, etc .Biasutti, M., & Heba, E. D. (2012).Wiki is more than just a learning tool for students; it’s a communication tool for teachers. Teachers can Use wiki to keep parents informed and post assignments and other class related content. Your wiki page is easily edited and updated so there’s no more need for a last minute trip to the copy machine.
Instead of just another boring academic paper on an historical figure, teachers can make research and documentation fun by creating wiki fan pages. Students can add and edit text, post photos and famous quotes, as well as links to the references they used. For a language teacher, one can Turn grammar into a challenging and competitive game. Have students use wiki to edit text with grammatical errors. Teachers can put students into groups and those with the most edits wins. Individual edits can also be counted.
For GeographyWiki pages can be used to study geography by giving states or countries their own wiki page. Have students include useful and unique information about each geographical area. Leia Dolphy ( 2018)
